Hilary Smart, another Nurse Practitioner will be travelling with Sallie and staying for two weeks. This isn’t Hilary’s first trip to Buburi she visited in 2009 and 2010 but was unable to go in 2011. She says that she really missed her visit last year and is looking forward to catching up with everyone out there. She says that it is such a worthwhile charity.
Prior to this visit Sallie has been interviewed on Phonic fm, an Exeter community radio station, and BBC radio Devon, this is to raise awareness of the charity and also to promote a concert in Exeter to raise funds. The concert is being given by a group of talented musicians called Living Room in London at The Exeter Phoenix on Friday January 20th at 8pm. The musicians are all classically trained and consist of 2 violins, cello, saxophone and hang drum, they will play a mixture of music from Mozart to Miles Davis and including some of their own compositions.
