Our team of UK-based trustees make regular visits to the clinic to ensure its smooth running and to facilitate its on-going growth and development. And you could join us!
By visiting the clinic you’ll have the opportunity to observe our work first-hand, as well as experience life in a rural Kenyan community. Ultimately, your contribution of time and money will make a real difference to the clinic and people of Buburi.
What will you do during your visit?
It is difficult to predict what each day may bring so it is important that you are flexible, able to adapt to situations and willing to take part in activities as they arise. Some visitors are able to use their experience and skills to help with other activities, such as general clinic maintenance and repairs, assisting with training sessions, observing the nurses during patient consultations, or gathering stories and images for fundraising.
Other activities may include:
- observing the clinic team in action
- accompanying our Community Health Workers during home visits
- attending meetings with the Public Health Department, Buburi Community Based Organisation and/or local organisations
- assisting with data collection
You may also have time during your visit to explore the local community, such as shop at the market and visit the local school and orphan day care centre.
